Independent East Caribbean dollar (XCD)
Official Language: English
Barbuda will defiantly be one of your favorite islands if your into nature and remoteness. This low island whose highest point is only 125 feet above the sea is similar to Anegada in the British Virgin islands if you have Bareboat chartered there. It is large, over half the size of Antigua with a mere 1600 inhabitants, who live-in and around the village of Codrington. Barbuda has many miles of brilliant turquoise shoal water that as you sail toward this mystical island you can with the right conditions see a blue-green reflection of the water in the clouds long before you see the land itself. During the right conditions you can anchor just about anywhere you wish. Reefs lay to the south and North of the island Catamarans can make it into the northern reef protection and Monohulls will need to stay to the southern reefs due to their keel depth.
